Shasta Dam Field Trip

Britain's class went to Shasta Dam for a field trip. Britain invited Grandpa to come since he used to work there. It was a lot of fun and we got to hear neat things from Grandpa that he used to do there. I took Britain and two of her good friends to Taco Bell after the field trip, they thought it was pretty cool to skip lunch in the cafeteria!!

We went shooting on Thanksgiving day before our big turkey dinner. We all had a good time shooting all of E.D.'s guns. We did have to stop for a few minutes when a buck came wandering through the shooting range. It was pretty cool to see!

Our baby turned five the end of November. She wanted to see the new movie Tangled with her friends and play at Chucky Cheese! She requested cookies because she doesn't like cake so I made her the biggest peanut butter cookie I could with five hershey kisses on it!! She had so much fun!! She is such a blessing in our lives, she is always making us laugh, loving on her sisters, and just so much fun to be around! We love you Sydney!!

We had a wonderful VBS this summer, our church was transformed into Egypt! The kids had a lot of fun learning about Joseph, and the grown ups had fun serving the kids! E.D. and I ran the Salon Shop where E.D. "shaved" the boys and I did makeup for the girls. It was such a great week!

Summer Camp

Britain went to her first Bible camp this summer. She was gone for two nights and three days, we all missed her but she had a blast with one of her bestest friends! They went on nature hikes, learned new songs, made fun crafts, and grew closer to God. She can't wait to go again next year and Brooklyn is looking forward to her turn next summer!

The girls had a Daddy/Daughter dance at school. As the girls where getting their dresses on and getting ready, Sydney asked if she could go too, so E.D. took his three girls to the dance! He is such an awesome Dad! The girls where so excited to have a night with Daddy and they all had a great time!!

Wax Museum

Britain's class had to write reports on a famous person from history. She chose Betsy Ross (she sewed the first American Flag). They had to dress up as the person they wrote about and then they had a Wax Museum where they all stood around in the gym and you had to activate them to hear their report. It was a lot of fun and the kids were very creative with their costumes.

Valentine's Day Happenings!

The girls had a great time doing valentine's for their classes this year. Britain found this flamingo idea in a magazine and begged me to help her do it for her class. It took a lot of time but they came out very cute and everyone loved them. Brooklyn chose Toy Story valentines and wrote every one's name on theirs. Both their classes had parties, so we took Sydney to celebrate with them. On Saturday, we took the girls for a hike on a trail near our house and then had my mom and dad over for a valentine's dinner. We made our house into a little restaurant, the girls dressed up and made a menu, seated them, and served them-I think it will be a new tradition for our home we all had a great evening! E.D. surprised me with tickets to see Wicked in San Francisco on the Wed. after valentines day. It was Wicked Awesome!! We both loved it and hope to see it again someday! It gives you a whole new outlook on The Wizard of Oz!!

Oh the Saints go marching in......

We had a little uprising in our house this last Fall when I decided to become a Saints fan instead of a Cowboys fan like I have been since I met my husband many years ago! It was tough going for a little awhile, especially when the Saints lost a 13 game winning streak to the Cowboys in Dec. but he was gracious and did his best to support me (he even got me a Saint's shirt for Christmas "so you can be a true fan" I was told). So, the Super Bowl held a whole new meaning for me this year as MY team made it there and I was very excited to watch them play! I even got the girls into it, Brooklyn was running around the house shouting "who dat" on Super Bowl Sunday! We put on our Saints gear and went to our friends house to watch the game (I think I was the only girl to watch the game) but it was fun and boy was I excited to watch them win 31-17!!!!

E.D.'s Birthday

We had a great time celebrating E.D.'s birthday this year. We went bowling with friends and then had a Jeopardy game with E.D. as one of the categories and yummy chocolate cake for dessert after words!

CAPTAIN 100!!!!!!!!

For the girls 100th day of school E.D. thought it would be fun to put together a costume and go into the class rooms to celebrate with the kids! He came up with Captain 100!! It was a blast putting together his costume and visiting classes at the school!!! When he checked in at the Office the ladies thought he was the coolest thing ever and told me I had to get them pictures for the Year Book!!! The kids where surprised to see a super hero come to their classrooms. He asked the kids questions and then we had little prizes for everyone. For Britain's class I made book marks with 100 on them and later that day her teacher had them all write letters to Captain 100 thanking him for coming in. It was pretty cool to read all their letters! I think my favorite one said "thank you Captain 100 for coming to our classroom, I liked my bookmark, but I know your SUPER HERO IDENTITY-it is Britain's Dad!"

Britain's Piercing Story

Britain finally decided to get her ears pierced this last weekend. She was set to do it 3 years ago and went with her sister who was begging me to pierce her ears. Brooklyn, being the most excited of the two went first and cried, Britain took one look at that and said no way!! Well, than Sydney decided a year and half ago that she wanted earrings, and so we took her and Britain (just in case she had changed her mine) Sydney cried for a minute and was fine, but Britain would have none of it. She told me that when she was 6 she would get it done, and then it was 8, and eventually 18!! We told her that it was up to her and whenever she was ready to let us know and we would take her. Well, last week a friend in school got hers done and came in bragging that it didn't hurt and she didn't cry! So, miss Britain came to me and decided that she was ready, so we went Saturday afternoon, we picked up her friend Izzy and planned for ice cream afterwords. We got there, she picked out her earrings, sat in the chair, and started crying that she couldn't do it. Oh what is a parent to do.... I slowly talked her through it and she did it with quite a few tears!!! She thinks they are soo pretty and glad that she did it "even if it did hurt a little"!

The Bad Tooth!

Brooklyn has unfortunately inherited my bad teeth and after a check-up at the dentist office found out that she had several cavities that needed to be fixed. She was a brave little soul going into have her teeth worked on especially after seeing her big sister come out bawling the week before after getting her teeth worked on. She did not want to drink the medicine they needed her too and I thought I was going to have to pry her mouth open, but she eventually did it (thanks to bribes of picking a movie and getting a toy by the dental hygienist). She was soon a limp rag doll in my lap and I carried her into the chair, and told her I would see her soon. I was reading a book to Sydney in the lobby praying it would go quickly when the dentist came out and told me that he was going to have to pull one of her teeth that was too decade to fix. I was not expecting that, and fought the urge to call one of my dental hygienist friends to see if this was normal or if I should run into the back and save my little girl from pure torture! Luckily Sydney was there to distract me with needs of hunger and I was able to get a grip and pray for calmness. It was over before I new it and they told me she did great and that I could take her home. She came out crying that the dentist took her tooth and she didn't know why. She couldn't walk yet, so I carried her to the car telling her it was going to be ok and now she was going to get a visit from the tooth fairy! She recovered pretty quickly and before long was starving and wanting food and talking about the tooth fairy coming. All was well again until the next morning when she came in crying that the tooth fairy didn't come-feeling horrible I told her that it was a very bad storm during the night and she wasn't able to fly in it, but for sure she would make it that night. Let me tell you the tooth fairy went above and beyond that night and made a little girl very happy when she woke up and found books and money at 4am in the morning!!

The Adventures of Stuart Little

Brooklyn was picked to be Star Student in her class at school. She got to bring home Stuart Little for the weekend and they had a lot of fun together! She slept with him, played babies with him, and he even got to take a ride on her remote control car!

Brooklyn turned 6 on New Years Eve!!! Daddy took her out for a special Birthday breakfast and gave her a little remote control car (just like Daddy's)! We went to Turtle Bay and In-n-Out for lunch and then had some friends over for dinner. She also wanted to go sledding for her birthday so we invited some friends to go with us and went the Saturday after her birthday! We left early and got a firepit at Eskimo Hill. We had a blast sledding, roasting hotdogs, making popcorn, and eating cupcakes in the snow!! Brooklyn is such a joy in our lives!! She is our "social butterfly" and talks to anyone with no reservations. She loves learning to read, color, and play with her sisters.

Sydney Turns 4

The baby of the family is now four years old. She had a princess party with her friends were they dressed up princess style and had fun coloring crowns to put on cinderella's head. She had a very fun day and enjoyed opening her presents the most. Sydney is such a sweet girl, she makes us all laugh and is always asking everyone how their day was or how they are feeling. She loves to dress up, play with playdough, and help mommy in the kitchen. She loves doing anything with her daddy and trying to keep up with her sisters. We love you Syd!!

Christmas Tree Hunting

It was the fastest Christmas tree hunt ever! It was so cold, the girls and I stayed at the car while E.D. hiked to find us a tree. He was back in about 12 min. with the best tree ever! I was able to take a few quick pictures while E.D. strapped the tree to our car and then we headed home. We stopped for lunch at the Cinnamon Bear Bakery-soooo good!

Living History Day

Britain's class had a living history day were the students became pilgrims and had to dress the part. They sailed on the Mayflower, and did things the way pilgrims did. They made soup, candles, little dolls, whittled things out of soap, played marbles, and a few other things. It was a lot of fun and a neat experience for them. Brooklyn's class were Indians. They sang songs and told everyone what they were thankful for. It was neat to hear Brooklyn say that she was thankful for God when classmates were thankful for sponge bob and pets.

Lost tooth!

Well, Brooklyn lost a tooth-a little prematurely. Daddy was having the girls play hunters, two of them were hunters and one was the hunting dog. The hunters shot a pig(stuffed animal), the dog retrieved the pig (in her mouth)and one of the hunters ripped the pig out of the dogs mouth when she didn't drop it on command and a bloody mess was the outcome. The dog (Brooklyn) was very upset at first, and then was excited that her tooth was very loose and that she would get a visit from the tooth fairy when it came out. It took about a week of wiggling and out it came a little sooner than it probably would have.

Brooklyn's First Soccer Goal!!!

Brooklyn made her first goal last week! We were so excited for her, I had the video camera on and was taping it (or thought I was) it turns out that the light actually is red when it is recording not green (now I know) bummer!! We went out for icecream afterwards to celebrate! We are hoping for more goals in the future but not sure after she asked me "mom now that I made a goal do I have to keep playing?"

First Day of School!

Here are some first day of school pictures. Britain started 2nd grade this year. She was very happy to find out that her friend Isabelle was in her class again, they were in both Kindergarten and 1st grade together, and have become good friends. Brooklyn started Kindergarten and has the same teacher that Britain had, she is having a lot fun being able to socialize with new people. It is neat to see the difference between the two, we always have to ask Britain about her day before she starts to tell us, before we get to the car with Brooklyn she is chattering about everything she learned and heard for the day. She loves the singing, coloring, and learning how to read. Sydney, is loving her special time with mom and so am I.

Camping Trip

Before the girls started school we were able to get away for a long weekend to camp on the Oregon's coast in Brookings. It was a fun trip to make memories and start a few Schneider camping traditions that the girls will look forward to on our future camping trips. We went crabbing for the first time and only lost one child off the pier-Sydney was helping daddy kick the crabs back in the water and kicked a little too hard and flew right off the pier into the ocean, mom and dad moved very quickly to pull her out. We almost came home with a new pet-Pete the Pelican, he joined us on the pier and decided that he wanted to hang out with us for the afternoon. The girls and I thought we should bring him home but he eventually flew away. We had fun going to the tide pools, playing at the beach, and rosting hotdogs!

Britain Turns 7!

Britain turned 7 in July. She got to have two parties this year, one with family in LA and one with her friends from home. We are enjoying watching her change and grow (just like her two front teeth) as each year passes. She has such a sweet spirit and is a joy to have around! Her favorite things to do right now are: reading, being an 'artist', soccer, playing with her sister's, games, and family night's.

My Twilight Birthday Party

E.D. put on a Twilight birthday party for me this year. It was a lot of fun even if most people hadn't read the books or saw the movie, they were all great sports and played vampire games and participated in the scavenger hunt around town to find items that had to do with Twilight. E.D. decorated the room all by himself and served a great dinner followed by yummy cheese cake for dessert. I had a great 32nd birthday party-thanks Babe!

After a big wind storm blew all of our cans and bottles we recycle all over the back yard, E.D. told the girls if they helped him pick them up they could have the money to buy something. They were great little helpers and after turning in the cans and bottles they had enough money (with a litte help) to each buy a new webkin. We hit the mall and they were so cute picking out what they wanted-Britain picked hers out in two minutes, Sydney close behind her, Brooklyn about a half hour of looking and thinking and coming back to look again finally decided on hers. It was a very rewarding day for them and they were so proud that they earned their money to buy something. We had a great 4th of July. We had a BBQ at a friends house were the girls got to set off sparklers and then we went and saw the fireworks. I don't know if the girls had more fun watching the fireworks or just staying up really late, but all in all it was a fun day!

Brooklyn has been wearing a patch for two hours a day for the last several months and completed a chart that she got a big prize for. She recently had a check up where we found out that she has to wear bandaid patches for the next three months. We were trying to think of a way to make it fun for her and decided to let her color the patches and then pick out which one she wants to wear each day. Her sisters helped her and she has been actually excited to put her patch on everyday. Here are some pictures of her and her patches.

We went to Rome for our Church's Vacation Bible School this year. It was a wonderful program that workers and kids all enjoyed! I got to be the leather booth worker and E.D. was able to play the part of a Roman soldier on Friday which the girls thought was pretty neat. It happened last week but I thought that I lost my pictures that I took but I found them so here they are!

Free fishing day at Mount Shasta, we packed a lunch and went fishing with Uncle Brandon, Aunt Katie, and Abi last Saturday for Father's day. Brooklyn and Sydney enjoyed the worms and catching the fish, Britain enjoyed it too, but it was a little too cold for her liking (and Mom's)!

The Shasta Fair

We took the girls to the Shasta Fair last Friday and had a lot of fun. The girls enjoyed looking at the animals and picking rides to go on. Sydney surprised us all by catching a rooster but quickly handed it over to her sister Brooklyn to hold who helped her in the catching process!

Well, we did it! We got a new kitten (thanks to our friends Troy and Sherry). We got to bring Autumn home(Britain picked her name out-"she looks like Fall Mom")last Sunday when she was just seven weeks old. We have all (yes even E.D.) fallen in love with her. She is the sweetest little thing. E.D. and I enjoy watching her tear through the house after the girls have gone to bed and just laugh at her. Then she falls asleep exhausted on one of our laps. She is great with the girls, tolerates being carried around everywhere, and is litter boxed trained. We couldn't have asked for a better kitty!

Goin' Buggy!

Britain's class put on a play called Goin' Buggy. She was a ladybug in the play. She had a great singing part and enjoyed it alot. The kids worked really hard on learning their lines and painting the set. It was a lot of fun to watch her perform!

Wes Camp Field Trip

E.D. and I both got to go on a field trip with Britain's class to Wes Camp. The kids got to wade in a pond, find huge tadpoles and crawfish, go on a nature hike and learned lots of cool things.

Brooklyn graduated from Cubbies this year. She had a great time in her class and was very proud of her Cubbie Bear Award!

Jen Jen Graduates!

Our dear friend, babysitter, sister graduated in May from George Fox University and we got to see her walk across the stage! We are so proud of you Jen and can't wait to see where the Lord takes you from here!

Our Anniversary

On April 15th E.D. and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary. Wow! Where has the time gone? We were able to go out for a great dinner and reminisce about the years we have shared together. God has totally blessed us and I couldn't imagine my life without my husband-he is a wonderful father,amazing husband, and I wouldn't be the person I am today without him-love you babe!

We had a fun-filled Easter Weekend. We got to see a helicopter drop eggs and do a Easter egg hunt with friends from church.
